As well as the DVD this cover project was not really planned. Harry and Bernard have been so busy by founding their own label Phonotraxx and by designing and releasing their first DVD that there wasn't enough time for songwriting.

Bernhard: " In the beginning of 2010 Harry and I discussed a lot about the times in which we grew up, the former club scene, the music program on TV and also about the million cover bands, which flood the market today. So we came up to the question: Should we give it a try to record some of the great international hits. The more we talked about this, the more attractive it was to us and the idea was born! "

But AXXIS would not be AXXIS if they would simply record only coversong versions. They have given themselves only one rule. No metal songs!

Harry: "We grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and bands like YES, Jethro Tull, Billy Idol, Kiss, AC / DC were played on the radio and in the clubs, but also songs from Bee Gees, ELO, Kraftwerk, Spliff etc. ... songs with which we've got special moments and experiences. Even if we'd listened more to Hardrock bands, we were all influenced by this music and this time... and in this context ...we h ad released the album "Kingdom of The Night".
So I'm very excited to see how this coveralbum will influence the next AXXIS album in 2013 :-)!"

Bernhard:" It took a long time to get a title for the album. But now I think with "reDISCOver(ed)" everythinig is said:-) By the way, you all have the chance to VOTE for the songs you would like to hear on this album. We're really looking forward for you votes:-)!"

Unfortunately only two more gigs in 2011! In November AXXIS is going to perform their "retro show" in Nördlingen/Germany and for December (22.12.) the Zeche Bochum team booked the band.

Because of their sold-out-show in Luenen AXXIS will go again on stage to celebrate their last gig in 2011. Regarding their DVD release "The Official Bootleg" and because of their successful tour with their support "Dawn of Destiny", AXXIS will play in the same venue they've already used for their recordings of their DVD: "The legendary Anniversary live show!"

AXXIS set up an own label!
In spite of good offers from record companies Bernhard and Harry want to take advantage of the perfect situation now to start their own label.
Bernhard: "The release of our ANNIVERSARY DVD will be a kind of test. Originally we planned to offer the DVD only on our website ... as an official bootleg, because everything...really everything is made by ourselves ... with a very small budget ... but with a lot of personal manpower... cover, booklet, mix, mastering ... everything. Many of you have already pre-ordered the DVD directly from this website.
First of all: Thank YOU! :-)) ... We appreciated this very much and need this input.

As it got around in the business a lot of distribution companies tried to get in contact with us. So… therefore we decided to turn our music publishing company Phonotraxx that was already established in 2006 into a label. In combination with a “real” distribution we’ll get the chance to offer the DVD in regular stores. For us it’s a wonderful and exiting time with an interesting “learning process”, new experiences and the challenge to be a bit more independent.  We hope we can count on your support…and we would be very happy if you continue to be so active on our website, especially in ordering our DVD :-) ! Certainly some of you must have asked yourselves why it has become a bit quiet on this homepage and in the AXXIS live activities.

The reason: AXXIS used the first half of the year to set up the new business. Negotiations with distributors, designing the DVD booklets, creating an online shop and much more are the reason why Harry and Bernhard are very busy. But why do they call that "experiment"?

Harry: " In 2010 when we became aware that we have a good own infrastructure an own recording studio, a booking agency, qualified sales leads, enough Internet know-how and good partner on our side it was only a short step for this experiment on many levels.

1. Are we really able to launch an own product?
2. Can we produce an own DVD with a really small budget but a lot of man power …completely alone?
3. Will the direct path between band and fans work ?
4. Could this be a model for the future?

Since years all these questions have been in our mind and we can only answer these questions by facing them ... and that’s what we’re doing now! "

The promoter of the Rocknacht festival (27.10.2010) in Bremen/Halle7 will organise a festival with Bonfire, J.B.O. and AXXIS.
These bands are not able to replace Gotthard but they can give you a great evening in the name of Steve Lee. [tourdates]

AXXIS : "We are totaly shocked. In a few weeks we wanted to meet Gotthard for some shows in Langen and Regensburg. We expected a great party and now we got these bad news...it's still unbelievable!

We want to express our deepest condolences to the band and his family. We're sure that Steve will be alive in his wonderfull songs and our memories...forever!"

Games like Starcraft, Diabolo, Runes of Magic, World of Warcraft, Spellforce etc. - at the Gamescom every important company presented their new products.

Bernhard:" The new browser games, that will be released via social networks like Facebook or MySpace are very interesting. Because I'm a big fan of Starcraft and other strategy PC games, this trade fair was a wonderful combination between business and fun!"
